September Meeting

This months DSRA meeting was a great success. The meeting began as usual with our business meeting where we handed out our member milestone pins. Here is mine:

Each charm means something different. I have two 'diamonds' on mine (really beautiful chrystal beads) which represent my two sales, then I have an Arkansas charm, a silver star for being a PRO Member, an inspirational charm for each rejection, a gold key for manuscripts over 50K, and a copper key for manuscripts up to 25K. These pins are a great conversation piece at conferences and give the members a great sense of accomplishment and belonging.

After the business meeting, Gina Wilkins and Elle James, both DSRA members, gave a presentation on 'Making a Career out of Category'. Here we are at our meeting.

The presentation included a brief description of what a category romance consisted of and how category compares to Single Title. Next, Gina and Elle discussed what some authors may see as 'pros' and 'cons' of category romance.
The meeting went well and we even welcomed a guest for the program. If you are interested in attending a meeting, then come on and join us. Email me at shada_royce@yahoo.com if you have any questions.
Thanks for reading!
