Changes...branching out...

I'm sorry, I just love this picture. But I apologize if I've grossed anyone out already. I think this guy is adorable in a weird sort of way, and today I'm thinking of him as a Pied Piper, leading the way to exciting changes.

I'm half way through my first Young Adult romance! I'm so excited. It's been such fun to write, and such a relief to know that I can still write something that isn't at least 50% sex. I had been wondering if I'd become so dependant on writing hot that I wouldn't know how to...not.

But apparently, the non-smut writing skills are still fairly fresh, and I couldn't be more excited about my new book. I've even decided on an alternate pen-name and purchased the domain name and hosting space, preparing to launch my YA persona's website later in the month. I know it's a bit premature since I haven't sold, but I had my Anna site for several months before I sold anything. It made me feel professional, lol.

Not that I want to give up smut, but it's been thrilling to do something different. What about you guys? Do you write in different genres? If so, do you play favorites or love both of your writerly sides equally?

Hugs!
Anna J. Evans

I recently started writing in 2 different areas - nothing as drastic between smut and YA, but different areas nevertheless.

I LOVE writing in my 1st person character driven, because the herione is so me. I just type like I'm writing in a make-believe diary.

But, with my 3rd person that has about 85% romance over suspense is more challenging for me, so therefore I enjoy it just as much.

I know myself enough to know, if I love one genre over another, then I'll play favorites when it comes to writing. It's like this: I LOVE me some chocolate ice cream, and then I like me some vanilla. Now when I get my option to eat one, duh, I'm picking the chocolate!

(BTW- couldn't help but laugh at the photo!)

Oh Anna! The picture is priceless!

Different genres? Heck, I can't decide what my FIRST genre will be! LOL

Hey Keri...

I hear you about vanilla and chocolate. Ben and Jerry and I have being in the midst of a very heated menage e trois of late. I still can't decide which flavor is my favorite yet, however. I think more research is needed...

Cyndi! I thought you and the Blaze-stuff were chilling? We'll have to discuss when you get back to a meeting. You're not here for March right?

Hugs,
Anna
